Rest deeply in winter
3 Tips to change pace and transition into winter
As we enter winter and the weather becomes cold and dark, we have the opportunity to deepen and reflect.
If we observe nature at this time of year, we can see the leaves have changed colour, and they are tumbling to the ground. This signifies we too need to pare back, deepen and rest as the dormancy of winter approaches.
Just like nature, we have the opportunity to turn our energies inward in the most YIN season of the year. It urges us to slow down, be introspective, receptive and restful.
Here are some simple ways to deepen in winter:
Breathing
Breathing occurs automatically and is often overlooked. The way we breathe affects us on all levels; our physical, mental, emotional and energetic selves can very quickly be upset by the quality of our breath. It affects our nervous system, digestion, blood pressure as well our sense of wellbeing.
Meditation
The key to meditating is to develop connection to yourself. Let this meditation support you to govern the quality of your relationship with yourself and your energetic state. This will help you eliminate external influences that affect you.
Sandalwood
This beautiful winter essential oil soothes tension, anxiety and promotes relaxation. It stimulates you immune system, helps chest infections and purifies the kidneys and bladder and cleanser the reproductive system.
