Winter Wellness

Welcome to WINTER, traditionally the season of hibernation.

Living in harmony with the natural cycles of nature, the cold and dark of  winter urges us to draw our energies inward, slow down and remain introspective, receptive and restful.

Winter asks us to consolidate our energy through the season and prepare for the outburst of new life in spring. This is the time of the year to reflect on our life and health, replenish our energy and conserve our strength.

Some conditions you may struggle with in winter include back and bone conditions, kidney disease, certain types of asthma, headaches and skin problems as well as fatigue, fertility issues, urinary tract infections, hearing difficulties and arthritis. With the wind and rain of winter can come aches and pain, colds and flu.

In winter it’s time to reflect upon what you have brought into fruition in your life through autumn and celebrate! Then release what no longer serves you – just as nature does with it’s bare repose – to make space for new growth to emerge in spring. Winter is a perfect time to dream deeply and awaken what you need to allow to come forth into your life, so as spring arrives, it can unfold.

Rest and restore by going to bed early and rising late, eat slow cooked warming and hearty foods, like soups, legumes, grains and roasted nuts (chestnuts, cashews, almonds etc.), that warm us to our core and rug up to keep warm and rested.
